Friedich Paulus

Friedrich Paulus.

Paulus was a German general then later promoted to field marshal on January 30 1943.

He saw action in Poland, Netherlands, Belgium and Soviet Union.

He was the commander of the 6th army during the push for Stalingrad and was the commander of German forces in Stalingrad. He surrendered to soviet force on January 31 1943. He did not have enough supplies to support his troops in Stalingrad. He was the first field marshal to become a POW.
